BIOGRAPHY

Josefin Runsteen (born 1990 in Gothenburg, Sweden) is a Swedish multi-musician, composer, arranger and producer.

Her main instruments are violin, drums, percussion and vocals but do often play more instruments on a playful level such as piano/synthesizers, base, marimba, vibraphone, mandoline and several string instruments. She started playing classical violin at the age of four and began playing piano and composing a few years later. She then took up drums and percussion and became the first woman in history playing the snare drum in ”Gothenburg Drum Corps”. After her musical studies, she started touring around the world with many big artists in a wide range of genres.

In recent years, this young free spirit multi-instrumentalist (drums, violins, guitars, piano, electronics, vocals...) has toured with international indie pop acts such as Feist, Damien Rice, Ane Brun, Loney Dear and Frank Ocean, as well as been very active in the jazz/avant garde scene (awarded the prestigious Jazzkatten by the National Swedish Radio - category "Newcomer of the year 2019" and playing with the Swedish Jazz elite: Fire! orchestra, Mats Gustafsson..).

Josefin was also invited as a violin soloist with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.

In 2020, she released an acoustic album in duo with Charles Spearin (founding member of Canadian indie elite Do Make Say Think & Broken Social Scene).
