BIOGRAPHY 2018

Guided by darkness and melancholy this band takes life late 2014 with the only purpose of go right into the core of the inner self, that place feared by ones, beloved by others, our true faces; Matalobos started when Eduardo decided to end his former band and start to write new material for a more metal/dark oriented project with Dante, also vocalist on his previous band, they made a couple of songs and got in touch with longtime friends and music colleagues, Clemente the drummer, and bass player De Anda, and so, after some preproduction sessions they entered Urvn Studios (León, México) to record their first E.P. from February to March of 2015, so it will be released that year by Inductive Oppression Records, reaching a melancholic death metal sound together with doom passages. After EP recording them asked Germán N. to join as live session guitarist and also strings composer for upcoming dates and writing sessions.

After many months of promotion and shows all over the country for Matalobos EP, they started working on writing and preproduction for their first full length entitled ARTE MACABRO. Marking November 2015 the month when they officially returned Urvn Studios with producer Rubén Sánchez to begin with all recording sessions. One month later first LP was done, so promotion and label arrangements began to finally release their album July 26th 2016 via Concreto Records, and with this came new shows and a tour in Mexico center, south and north at their most important cities and venues as Café Iguana in Monterrey and Circo Volador in Mexico City. ARTE MACABRO mixes all Matalobos influences and feelings with a more macabre and aggressive vibe, including their characteristic acoustic passages and sentimental guitar fills.

Following this line, and with that hunger for music, the band started working in some new tones as continuation of ARTE MACABRO, after a collaborative writing process the band decided to return to Urvn Studios during June/July 2017 to work with recordings and mixes by Rubén Sánchez and mastering by Dan Swanö at Unisound, Germany. This new music act entitled UNTIL TIME HAS LOST ALL MEANING, Matalobos reaches a more melodic and so aggressive side of the band, going through old school passages and a concept inspired totally in death and somatization of pain. This latest work was released as collaboration with Concreto Records in November 2nd, 2018, and it has been followed up by a number of promotion shows that will be taking part during the current year.
