BIOGRAPHY 2013

Surpassing the human being, resisting to the instinct dissolution, now that the world finds in the order its idiot consolation, now that the ability to regress as species seems to be what actually distinguishes us from the other livings. To be worms has never been so easy as this time.

Which musical genre better than Black Metal could successfully face these dramatic and crucial humanity themes? Which world if not the one of the highest peaks and glaciers could supply the purest artistic and philosophic inspirations capable to awake the asleep consciousness of the most?

The necessary condition to enter in this world, which is the leitmotiv of the whole album “Disposition to Tyranny” (The Summit Records, 2012), is to definitively forget the concepts of good and evil, to feel the Will as the drawing power of the existence. As the attentive listener will catch in the remarkable lyrics of the album, the disposition to tyranny is far from being a political concept, but it has to do with the will of every fragment of the Nature that struggles and pretends its place into the universe.

After the previous work “Wounded Skies” (Dwell Records, 2006), the Stormcrow quintet, formed by Zedar (Bass Guitar), Goraath (Drums, Voice, Keyboards), Narchost (Lead Guitar), Vastis (Voice) and Astaroth (Rhythm Guitar), presents “Disposition to Tyranny”, an album that benefits from a varied songwriting but solidly laced to the best violence and melancholy canons that the genre could offer, something that leaves room to the characterizing of each song even keeping at highest level the psychophysical involving of the listener.

So starts the intro song “The Extra-Moral Age”, in which some whales' cries duet with essential and dull keyboards lines, preparing the way to the song “In Mediis Lupis”. Thanks to the lyrics completely written in Latin and to an involving rhythm, this song unveils the aggressive style of the band and the accuracy of the Sound Engineering performed by Alex Azzali at the Alpha & Omega Studios of Como (Italy), focused to maintain both the fire power and the definition of the sound even in the most elaborated riffs.

In the track “Kingdom of Vertical”, the image of the mountain is almost analysed in an architectural way, and the power of its phenomena redirects into music with a deafening and unstoppable impetus, until it become clear that the closeness of this band to the world of mountains and mountaineering is anything but purely and simply conceptual.

And it also might be mentioned the song “Steel Bleeding”, where the band presents strongly metaphoric lyrics inspired by Nietzsche's philosophy, especially by the book “Thus Spoke Zarathustra” and by the concept of “eternal recurrence” elaborated by the philosopher.

The sensation of musical and conceptual deepness, the attention to graphic details and stylistic production that you can feel meeting with the album “Disposition to Tyranny”, are supported by a great histrionic attitude to live performances. Shining, Dark Funeral, Hate, Enthroned, Vader, Mortuary Drape, Negura Bunget are just some of the bands with which Stormcrow shared the stage during years of shows across Europe like Belgium, Germany, France and Slovenia engaged in tours, gigs and festival of the calibre of MetalCamp, where the band took part in 2009, Filthrock Festival and others.

It's during this journey, and in Alpine wanderings, that the Stormcrow soul and music has been forged and shaped, becaome powerful ad hundreds of rockfalls, penetrating as the sinister creak of an ice sheet, melancholic as a horn resounding its calling from the lonely summit, wanting to be replied.
