...OSSIAN takes life like an alien, indipendent, self-sufficient organism in the boring and far-away South of Italy (Bari). Through its riddled membrane it strains every moods: happiness, fear, distress madness, boredom spiting they back in a mix of sounds, noises and frequencies that shape the air in invisible figures eyes cannot realize. A contaminated, polluted sound, a melting pot of bastard death/thrash/noise-core riffs, industrial beats, electronic moods, post-metal grooves, crossover digressions and dark-gothic contaminations. "NOISY ASSAULT OF VIOLENT GROOVY METAL": this is the label that better represents its attitude and its schizophrenic way of being…it could break your neck in a nanosecond and then cradle you …it could rape you like a beast an then stroke you sweetly…it could beat you blindly and then makes your flesh creep…this is OSSIAN...
OSSIAN starts playing in 1995, after two years of hard work it produces two promotional-tapes of heavy/thrash kind: "Surreal Masterpeace"(Jan97) and "Mythomania"(Jul97) that meet good success in the underground metal scene and receive optimal reviews on the national and international press. Always in the same year OSSIAN performs two consecutive times to the PEPSI SZIGET (international rock festival in Budapest) with artists like: Slash, Iggy Pop, Faith No More, Therapy? Prodigy, Sonic Youth, Foo Fighters meeting great success among the numerous international crowd. In April 98 OSSIAN 's third promo-tape saw the light and the sound evolves toward the original melting pot performed today by the band. After a positive welcome by the metal press and a change in line-up the band self-produces a Master giving life to its debut-CD: "Ecforia (mental hallucination device)".
The debut-CD includes 9 tracks and has been recorded at "Blu Velvet Studios" in Modena (Italy) with Logic and Pro-tools system, mixed at "Master Recording Studios" in Taranto (Italy) by Marco De Bartolomeo and OSSIAN with Pro-Tools 24 bit mix plus, the best of digital sound! The lyrics are in English and German and form a concept of cyber-punk inspiration set in a futuristic background.
Finally out in September 01 the full-lenght meets a positive welcome by labels, press and insiders receiving excellent reviews on important web 'zines (see quotes). The band ,with the partenership of Kick promotion Agency( booking&menagement), works hard to the promotion of this full-lenght CD through a strong live activity in all the Italian Peninsula obtaining good succes and partecipating in important compilations; meanwhile the band chooses to self distribut its own issue now available directly contacting the band through the official ossian web site or through important web distros, such as:
Actually the band has terminated in August the recording sessions of a
Promo Cd: ":m:o:l:e:c:u:l:e:s: PRO-MO(tion) a.D.**02/**03"
directly adressed to labels&insiders. The issue includes 4 new
tracks chosen among the 10 ones
already written and arranged this year by the band and the self
produced videoclip of the song "ECFORIA[m.h.d.]", taken
from the debut-Cd : "Ecforia[mentahallucinationdevice]
